Full ceiling plenum intake spans the entire roof — air enters clean and flows straight down through the booth at consistent face velocity. Side wall exhaust plenums at floor level capture overspray without an underground pit. No excavation. No raised floor system. ETL listed (Intertek) for the USA and Canada. UL 508A control panel. NFPA 33 and OSHA compliant. Standard sizes 14’W × 9–12’H × 24–33’L. Custom sizes engineered to your facility.
Fresh, filtered air enters through a full-length ceiling plenum spanning the entire roof of the booth. It flows straight down at consistent face velocity — the same vertical airflow pattern as a full downdraft booth. At floor level, air sweeps toward both side walls and exhausts upward through floor-level side wall plenums with fiberglass media filters before being discharged outside. The PFS Helios delivers the same clean, vertical airflow as a full downdraft booth — without requiring any concrete pit excavation. This makes it the preferred choice for facilities on slab-on-grade foundations, temporary or relocatable installations, and operations prioritizing the lowest total installed cost.
All standard booths are 14′ wide. Select a ceiling height to see available lengths.
Add a direct-fired or indirect-fired heat system to your side-downdraft booth for accelerated cure times. Blanket intake filter upgrades included with all heated configurations.
Maximize throughput and compliance by pairing your side-downdraft
booth with a dedicated mixing room for paint prep and an air make-up
unit for tempered make-up air.

Side downdraft sits between semi-downdraft and full downdraft. Air moves top to bottom like a full downdraft, but it exits through the side walls instead of a floor grate. That makes it a strong choice for collision repair, fleet and industrial work where finish quality matters but cutting a pit is not an option.
Because the exhaust plenums run along the side walls, the outside footprint is wider than the work area. Check overall width, door swing and stack location against your building layout. The booth is bolted together on your existing slab and can be relocated later.
Heated air make-up (direct or indirect fired), bake cycles, extra length for trucks and equipment, drive-through doors, mixing rooms and prep stations.
Filtered air enters through the ceiling plenum and travels down over the vehicle or part. Instead of exhausting through a floor pit, the air turns toward exhaust filter plenums built into the lower side walls and is drawn out to the exhaust stack. You get downdraft-style airflow that carries overspray down and away from the painter, on a flat slab with no pit and no raised floor.
Yes. The vertical airflow keeps overspray off fresh panels, which is why many collision shops choose side downdraft when a pit is not practical.
Wider than its work area, because exhaust plenums run along both side walls. PFS provides a layout drawing with exact outside dimensions for your space.
