CUSTOM OVEN GUIDE

What to Send Before a Custom Oven Is Engineered

A custom oven is engineered from four inputs. Having them ready shortens the quote.

Length, width, height and weight of the biggest part or rack you will cure, plus how it is loaded: by cart, fork truck, drive-in or conveyor. The part envelope and loading method set the oven interior and the doors.

The coating manufacturer’s cure time and temperature, along with the part material and thickness. Thick steel takes longer to come up to temperature than thin sheet, and that sets the heat input and cycle time.

How many parts per shift and how they move through the shop. Lower volume usually points to a batch design; continuous flow points to a conveyor oven.

Ceiling height, floor space, door locations, and the fuel available: natural gas, propane or electric. Custom ovens are often needed because the building, not the part, is the constraint.

If the oven must connect to washers, dry-off ovens, booths or conveyor systems, PFS engineers the layout as one system.

Many projects fit a standard batch ovens or walk-in ovens with custom dimensions. Our engineers will tell you if a standard design can do the job.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Custom Industrial Ovens — Common Questions

When parts are oversized, the cure profile is unusual, the oven must fit a tight building, or it has to integrate with conveyors or automation.

Natural gas, propane and electric, chosen around your process and utilities.

Yes. Airflow, heat input and controls are engineered around your coating manufacturer’s cure requirements.

They are built with ETL/UL certified components and UL 508A controls.

Your largest part size and weight, how parts are loaded, the coating cure schedule, production volume, the building constraints and the fuel available.

Yes. Custom dimensions and configurations are engineered to fit the building.

Yes. Full installation support is available, along with service and support after startup.
