PFS PREP & SUPPORT SYSTEMS
Paint prep stations with an exhaust wall and curtain or fully enclosed ceiling, for sanding, masking and priming outside the spray booth. Single and multi-bay layouts for body shops, collision centers and industrial finishing lines.

PFS Orion Prep Stations are dedicated stations for sanding, masking, and prep work — keeping those tasks separate from the spray booth.
Available in two configurations: exhaust wall with curtain sides for maximum flexibility and easy vehicle access, or fully enclosed ceiling with optional built-in LED lighting for a cleaner, more controlled prep environment. Multi-bay configurations allow multiple technicians to work simultaneously.
Same high-efficiency, UL listed tube axial fan used in our enclosed paint booths. Moves air through the exhaust wall at consistent face velocity — pulling sanding dust, overspray, and contaminants away from the operator and work surface.
Class I Division 2 inside-access four-tube light fixtures — the same fixtures specified in our cross-flow and enclosed booths. Fluorescent or LED tube compatible. Uniform, shadow-free illumination across the full work area.
PFS Core Control Panel — UL 508A certified with spray and flash modes. Programmable cycle timers, safety interlocks, and optional BMS integration. Same panel platform as our enclosed spray booths.
Heated prep station configurations are available upon request. Integrated heat accelerates flash-off times, improves primer adhesion in cold climates, and keeps your prep area productive year-round — same heating options as our enclosed paint booths.
Exhaust uses fiberglass media filters. Intake uses tacky-type filters standard. Blanket intake upgrades available for heated configurations. All filter media is OEM-sourced and available for fast reorder.
Available in open or fully enclosed configurations. The enclosed version provides complete containment — same panel construction and door hardware as our enclosed paint booths — keeping dust and contaminants isolated from adjacent spray areas.
Structural panels available in galvanized or powder coated finish. Built to NFPA 33 standards with air quality and OSHA compliance on every unit. Same panel system used across the PFS booth lineup.
Choose between a curtain-only configuration for maximum flexibility, or a fully enclosed ceiling panel system with optional built-in LED lighting. Multi-bay configurations available.
PFS prep stations ship to all 50 states. Factory-direct pricing, fast lead times, and dedicated project support from order through installation. Same manufacturing facility and quality control as our full spray booth lineup.
14' W × 9' H × 24', 27' or 30' D. Custom width, height and depth are available on request.

Full ceiling panel system with exhaust wall and curtain sides. An optional LED lighting package built into the ceiling gives better light and a cleaner, more controlled prep area.

PFS Orion Prep Stations are designed to expand. Add bays side by side to build a dedicated prep line, each bay with its own exhaust section, curtain separation and airflow control.
Multi-bay layouts are common in high-volume collision centers, fleet shops and industrial finishing operations that prep several vehicles or parts at once.
Configure Multi-Bay →Sanding, masking and priming in the spray booth ties up your most expensive room and loads its filters with dust. A ventilated prep station moves that work out, so the booth spends more of the day painting and finishes come out cleaner.
Curtain stations are the most flexible and the least expensive. Curtains pull back for vehicle and large-part access. An enclosed ceiling adds a contained airflow path and optional built-in LED lighting for a cleaner, brighter prep area.
The standard station is 14′ wide × 9′ high, 24′ to 30′ deep, which fits most cars and light trucks with room to work. Larger vehicles, fleet units and industrial parts can be built to custom sizes.
If you plan to spray primer in the station, it is treated as a spray area and must meet NFPA 33 requirements for ventilation, filtration, electrical and fire protection, the same as a booth. PFS prep stations are built for it, with CID2 lighting, UL listed fans and UL 508A controls.
Heated versions shorten primer and filler cure times and keep the area comfortable in winter. Heat can be integrated with an air make-up unit.
High-volume shops line up bays side by side, each with its own exhaust section and curtain separation, so several vehicles can be prepped at once.
Single bay, multi-bay, curtain or enclosed ceiling — we build to your specs.
A paint prep station provides a dedicated, code-compliant environment for sanding, priming, masking, and other surface preparation tasks that need to happen before final painting. By handling prep work in a separate station, you keep your spray booth available for final coats — increasing overall throughput and reducing contamination risk in the booth.
A spray booth is designed for the application of paint and coatings under controlled airflow conditions. A prep station is designed for sanding, priming, and masking — tasks that generate dust and require ventilation but do not involve spray application of flammable materials. Prep stations typically use a 4-stage filtration system to capture dust and VOCs, and are built to EPA 6H Paint Rule and NFPA 33 standards.
Yes. Prep stations used for priming and surface coating operations are subject to NFPA 33 requirements. PFS prep stations are built to NFPA 33 standards with ETL/UL listed and certified components and OSHA compliant ventilation.
PFS prep stations use a 4-stage exhaust filtration system that captures paint overspray, dust, and VOCs. The system includes a pre-filter, a primary paint arrestor, a secondary filter, and an activated carbon stage for VOC capture. This multi-stage approach extends filter life and maintains code-compliant air quality.
Yes. PFS manufactures prep stations in custom widths, heights, and lengths. Ductless mobile configurations are also available for shops that need flexibility. Contact a PFS engineer for a custom quote.
PFS Orion prep stations are 14′ wide × 9′ high and 24′, 27′ or 30′ deep as standard. Custom sizes are available.
Yes, if the station is built and ventilated for spraying. Spraying primer makes it a spray area under NFPA 33, so it needs the proper airflow, filtration, CID2 electrical and fire protection. PFS prep stations are designed for priming.
