General
About PFS.
What is PFS?
PFS (Platinum Finishing Systems) is a finishing systems integrator headquartered in Santa Rosa, California. We engineer, fabricate, install, and commission complete industrial finishing lines: paint booths, cure ovens, conveyors, controls, and air make-up. PFS has served 40+ U.S. states since 1990, with installations in aerospace, heavy equipment, automotive, powder coating, and defense.
What's the difference between PFS and a booth supplier?
Booth suppliers sell standalone equipment. PFS engineers complete production finishing lines as integrated systems — booth + oven + conveyor + controls + installation, with one project manager and one warranty. Most of our work is system integration, not booth-only sales.
What industries does PFS serve?
Aerospace, defense, heavy equipment manufacturing, mining, rail and transit, agricultural equipment, automotive production, powder coating operations, industrial fabrication, and architectural extrusions. PFS systems are deployed across high-throughput production environments in North America.
Where does PFS install systems?
Nationwide. PFS installation crews operate across 40+ U.S. states. Equipment is fabricated in Santa Rosa, CA and shipped to your site for PFS-managed installation.
What are typical lead times?
Standard turn-key systems ship in 8–12 weeks. Custom-engineered systems average 12–16 weeks. Heavy equipment booths and large conveyor lines can run 16–20 weeks. Installation typically takes 2–6 weeks on site, depending on system complexity.
Are PFS systems ETL-certified?
Yes. All PFS booths, ovens, and control panels carry ETL certification for NFPA 33 (spray finishing) and NFPA 86 (ovens). Compliance with local code is the customer's responsibility, but PFS provides PE-stamped drawings, ETL labels, and inspection support.
How does the PFS quote process work?
You contact PFS with your part dimensions, production rate, coating type, and facility constraints. A PFS systems engineer responds within one business day with initial sizing and pricing. Detailed design and stamped drawings follow once the project moves forward.
Does PFS sell directly or through dealers?
PFS sells directly. We do not work through resellers or distributors. Every project is managed by a PFS systems engineer from quote through startup.
Does PFS offer financing?
Yes. PFS works with multiple equipment finance partners and can provide financing options for system purchases. Contact us for details.
What kind of warranty do PFS systems carry?
PFS provides a single integration warranty covering the engineered system — booth, oven, conveyor, and controls. Component-level warranties (fans, burners, motors, PLCs) are passed through from manufacturers. PFS owns the system-level integration.
Systems & Equipment
About PFS systems.
Do I need a complete system or can I buy components?
It depends on your application. For powder coating and conveyor-integrated lines, complete systems almost always make sense — sizing mismatches and integration risk are too costly otherwise. For simple replacements (e.g., a new booth in an existing facility), component sales work well. PFS will tell you honestly which approach fits your situation.
Can PFS retrofit my existing finishing line?
Yes. Retrofit and expansion projects are a core PFS capability — adding a new booth to an existing oven, integrating new robotic equipment, expanding capacity. We engineer transitions and integration with your current equipment.
Are PFS booths customizable?
Every PFS industrial booth is custom-engineered. We don't sell pre-engineered catalog booths — booth dimensions, airflow, structural design, and integration are all sized to your specific parts and production requirements.
Does PFS provide robotic integration?
Yes. ORION-R is PFS's robotic finishing system — 6-axis robotic paint applicators integrated with booth airflow, conveyor timing, and control systems. Robotic finishing is delivered as a complete turn-key installation.
