Why Powder Coating Requires Integration

Three components, one engineered system.

Powder coating systems must balance application booth, cure oven, and production throughput. PFS engineers all three as one matched system.

Booth-to-Oven Sizing

Common mistake: buying booth and oven separately. Booth allows 100 parts/hour application, but oven only handles 60 = bottleneck. PFS engineers booth and oven as a matched pair — production rate drives oven capacity drives conveyor speed.

Electrical Integration

Powder systems carry significant load: booth exhaust fan (5–15 HP), oven burner controls (100K–500K BTU), conveyor motors, powder guns. PFS provides one integrated control panel — single HMI, unified safety, coordinated operation.

Complete Package

PFS powder packages include: powder booth (sized for parts), HELIOS batch or conveyor cure oven (matched to throughput), control panel (manages booth + oven + conveyor), installation, and startup. You receive a functioning powder line — not separate equipment.

System Configurations

Three powder system architectures.

PFS configures powder systems to your production reality — not a one-size catalog. Pick the right architecture, then we engineer the rest.

Configuration 01

Batch Powder System

Manual loading on racks or carts. Best for varied part sizes, lower production volumes, and operations that need flexibility.

  • Booth TypeBatch / open-front
  • Oven StyleHELIOS Batch
  • Throughput20–60 parts/hour
  • Footprint30'–60'
Configuration 02

Conveyor Powder Line

Continuous production — parts on overhead or floor conveyor through booth, oven, and offload. Highest throughput.

  • Booth TypeConveyor pass-through
  • Oven StyleHELIOS Conveyor
  • Throughput100–500+ parts/hour
  • Footprint60'–150'+
Configuration 03

Hybrid System

Conveyor application booth with batch cure oven (or vice versa) — balances production speed with cure flexibility.

  • Booth TypeConveyor booth
  • Oven StyleHELIOS Batch
  • Throughput60–150 parts/hour
  • Footprint50'–90'

Frequently Asked Questions

Powder coating systems FAQ.

Can I buy just a powder booth from PFS?
Yes, but we recommend booth + oven packages for powder coating. Buying a booth separately means you size the oven independently (risk of production mismatch), electrical integration falls on you, control systems aren't coordinated, and you manage separate installation/startup. PFS packages save money on integration labor and eliminate sizing mismatches. Most customers choose the complete system.
What's included in a PFS powder coating system package?
A complete powder coating system includes: powder application booth (batch or conveyor), HELIOS cure oven (sized to booth production rate), integrated control panel (managing booth + oven operation), electrical wiring and integration, and installation/system startup. Optional add-ons: conveyor system, pretreatment equipment, powder guns and controls. This is a complete production powder line — not loose components.
How is PFS different from a powder booth distributor?
Distributors resell standalone equipment. PFS is a finishing systems integrator — we engineer the booth, cure oven, conveyor, and control panel as one matched system. We size oven capacity to booth throughput, integrate the electrical, and own the installation/startup. You buy a working production line, not a parts list.
Are PFS powder systems ETL-certified?
Yes. All PFS powder coating equipment carries ETL certification for NFPA 33 compliance. Booth and oven both ship with ETL labels, and PFS control panels are UL/ETL-listed.
Can a PFS powder system integrate with my existing pretreatment line?
Yes. PFS routinely integrates new powder booth + oven packages with existing pretreatment, blast, and conveyor lines. We engineer transition zones, conveyor speed coordination, and control sequencing to integrate seamlessly with your current equipment.
How long does it take from order to startup for a powder system?
Standard powder packages ship in 8–12 weeks. Custom-engineered conveyor lines or specialty configurations average 12–16 weeks. On-site installation typically takes 2–4 weeks for a complete booth + oven + conveyor system.
