Types of Lights
- Incandescent: These bulbs produce visible light by heating a coil within the bulb to an extreme temperature. While they are bright, these expend about 90% of their energy on the infrared energy produced. This output translates into a higher energy bill and less efficiency.
- Fluorescent: These create visible light by mixing UV gas with a special coating within the bulb. While these lights are bright, they lack the efficiency and longevity of the LED.
- LED: This is the latest in lighting technology, light is produced by current passing through diodes to create visible light. This process uses 100% of its energy to creating the visible light, and therefore has up to 25x longer life and 90% more efficient than traditional lights.
